Spotting a Fake | The Bare Bulb

LCMS Darwin Schauer - convicted sex offender -
was encouraged to become a lay pastor and offended again.
SP Harrison has ordered silence on this scandal,
and the Steadfast Lutherans steadfastly complied.

Spotting a Fake | The Bare Bulb:

Spotting a Fake

fakeThe guy in the fedora and running shoes calls himself Bishop Ralph Napierski. He tried to walk into the Sistine Chapel to attend the conclave of the College of Cardinals electing a new Pope.

He’s no bishop. He’s a fake.

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has its own fakes. They are well-meaning laymen, preaching and adminstering the sacraments, without being called and ordained to do so –Lay Ministers.

Our Augsburg Confession says: “no one should publicly teach in the Church or administer the Sacraments unless he be regularly called.” Lay Ministers do; and they aren’t. In the words of Pr. Heath Curtis, we are “asking men to pretend to be pastors when they are not.” Like Ralph Napierski.

Many District Presidents support the Lay Ministry in their districts. Still, if a Lay Minister tried to attend one of their conclaves or join their ranks, I’m pretty sure that they would spot him then.
