Let's Discuss These Ideas - As Long As You Agree with Me.
Medieval Censorship in the Church

Can Any Pope Be a Believing Christian began as a comment that Brett Meyer posted on Intrepid Lutherans. Steve Spencer removed it.

This is very common on discussion boards. They say, "We are going to host this forum for discussing theology." But soon, any thread that threatens the status quo is removed entirely. One recent example is the uncovering of the sex scandal in Minnesota, where LCMS district leaders encouraged a known child rapist to become a lay pastor. Unlike WELS pastors, who laugh these things off, several Missouri pastors/laity went into great detail about what happened - on Steadfast Lutherans.

Aren't these blog titles a riot? I have to stop and catch my breath from laughing so hard. OK, back to the topic.

Smelling a lawsuit with the facts posted for everyone to see, Harrison ordered the entire thread removed. And it was. Message to the new victim of this monster - "Sorry kid, but this was business. It's not personal. We really like you."

I expect Intrepid Lutherans to go away or adopt the same instant mashed potatoes flavor of most discussion blogs. The SynCon popes do not want people discussing the main ideas, only to gush about how wonderful and infallible their little sect is.

Any group so allergic and hateful toward the Chief Article of the Christian Faith is going to produce evil fruit.

No one needs to guess what will happen to clergy who trust their synod but not the Word of God.
